Privacy Policy for Sound Jig
Sound Jig is run by producers, for producers, and we treat your privacy the same way we treat a good sample pack: keep it clean, keep it minimal, and don’t clutter it with junk. This page explains what happens to information when you browse our plugin reviews, sample library write-ups, and sound design guides.
Information We Collect
We keep collection to a bare minimum. Like most websites, our server automatically records basic technical details when you visit:
- Your IP address
- Browser type and version (user agent)
- Pages viewed and timestamps
- Referring URL, where applicable
We do not ask you to register, and we do not collect names, addresses, or payment details. There is no newsletter signup on this site that stores personal data beyond what you voluntarily send us.
How We Use This Data
Server logs exist for one reason: keeping the site online and safe. We use them to detect abuse, block malicious traffic, troubleshoot downtime, and understand roughly which articles and reviews our readers find useful. We never sell, rent, or trade your information to third parties. Period.
Cookies
Honestly, we barely use them. Sound Jig does not run advertising cookies, tracking pixels, or behavioral profiling scripts. If a cookie appears, it exists only to remember basic preferences or keep the site functioning. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings without breaking anything important.
Third-Party Services
We may rely on a content delivery network to serve pages quickly and a privacy-respecting analytics tool to count visits. These providers process technical data on our behalf under their own privacy terms. We do not embed social trackers or ad networks, and we have no interest in following you across the web.
Your Rights
Even though we hold very little data about you, you still have rights. You may:
- Ask what information, if any, we hold related to your visits
- Request deletion of that information
- Object to processing or ask us to restrict it
- Lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority
To exercise any of these, email us at the address below. We will respond promptly and without hassle.
Children’s Privacy
Sound Jig is aimed at music producers and audio engineers, not children. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13, in line with COPPA. If you believe a child has submitted data to us, contact us and we will remove it.
Changes to This Policy
If we update this policy, we will post the revised version here with a new effective date. Significant changes will be noted on the site so regular readers can spot them. Continued use of Sound Jig after an update means you accept the revised terms.
